They are now seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Consultant to join their Environmental Management and Consents (EM&C) team. This role offers the opportunity to manage and deliver key projects while contributing to the growth of the business and expanding their market presence.

The Role

The Senior Consultant will report to the EM&C team lead and collaborate with various internal teams. This role requires regular visits to client sites, attending meetings, and engaging with clients directly.

In addition to project management, the Senior Consultant will play an active role in business development and contribute to the wider team’s initiatives.

Key areas of expertise required include:

  • Environmental management processes and compliance with environmental consents.
  • Specialist knowledge in one or more areas such as CEEQUAL, BREEAM, Carbon Footprint, Waste Management, or Contaminated Land.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality environmental management and consents projects.
  • Attend and conduct meetings with clients, including travel to various sites.
  • Support business development initiatives and contribute to team growth.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and provide training as required.
  • Write and deliver CoCPs, CEMPs, SWMPs, and other construction-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, consents, and permits, and brief construction teams accordingly.
  • Monitor and report on environmental KPIs.
  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Prepare bids and contribute to the company’s overall business development efforts.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in environment, planning, and sustainability.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Management or a related field, along with membership in a recognised professional body.
  • Proven experience in drafting CoCPs, CEMPs, SWMPs, and environmental input into construction documents for both property and infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal requirements, environmental consents, and permits, with experience in delivering training such as Toolbox talks.
  • The ability to manage environmental KPIs and report on progress.
  • Experience working within and leading multidisciplinary teams, often under tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and bid preparation.

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring (air quality, noise, and vibration).
  • Experience with planning and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process.
