About the Role

Our client, a leading multidisciplinary consultancy known for delivering innovative environmental, engineering, health and safety, and sustainability solutions, is seeking an experienced and creative Landscape Architect. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to a variety of projects across the Midlands or Scotland.

Role Overview:
As a Landscape Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing landscapes that are both functional and visually appealing while ensuring compliance with environmental and planning regulations. With over 4 years of experience, particularly in producing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) at various levels, you will bring your expertise to a range of projects, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and sustainable design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the production of high-quality Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) at different levels, ensuring they meet regulatory and client requirements.
  • Develop and deliver landscape designs that enhance the visual and environmental quality of development projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including planners, ecologists, and engineers, to ensure landscape considerations are integrated into wider project goals.
  • Prepare detailed landscape plans, technical drawings, and reports, utilizing industry-standard software and tools.
  • Engage with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to provide expert advice and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Conduct site visits and landscape appraisals to inform design and assessment processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulations to ensure compliance and innovation in landscape design.
  • Support the mentoring and development of junior staff within the landscape architecture team.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in landscape architecture, with a strong focus on producing LVIAs.
  • A degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or working towards this status.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D visualization tools).
  • Strong understanding of UK planning processes, environmental legislation, and landscape guidelines.
  • Excellent design and report writing skills, with an eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to various sites across the Midlands or Scotland.
