About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Archaeologist with consultancy expertise to join their multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in archaeological assessments and heritage consultancy to contribute to a variety of exciting projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct archaeological assessments, heritage impact assessments, and desk-based research.
  • Prepare and review technical reports for planning applications and development projects.
  • Provide expert advice on heritage and archaeological matters to clients and stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with other specialists within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Liaise with planning authorities and heritage bodies to ensure compliance with UK planning policies and legislation.
  • Oversee and coordinate fieldwork, including evaluations, excavations, and watching briefs.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in Archaeology, Heritage Management, or a related discipline.
  • Consultancy experience, preferably within a commercial or environmental planning setting.
  • Strong knowledge of UK heritage and planning legislation.
  • Excellent report-writing skills and experience producing heritage statements, desk-based assessments, and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to be based near or relocate to Hailsham (East Sussex) or Ashford (Kent).
