About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Archaeologist with consultancy expertise to join their multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in archaeological assessments and heritage consultancy to contribute to a variety of exciting projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct archaeological assessments, heritage impact assessments, and desk-based research.
- Prepare and review technical reports for planning applications and development projects.
- Provide expert advice on heritage and archaeological matters to clients and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with other specialists within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Liaise with planning authorities and heritage bodies to ensure compliance with UK planning policies and legislation.
- Oversee and coordinate fieldwork, including evaluations, excavations, and watching briefs.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in Archaeology, Heritage Management, or a related discipline.
- Consultancy experience, preferably within a commercial or environmental planning setting.
- Strong knowledge of UK heritage and planning legislation.
- Excellent report-writing skills and experience producing heritage statements, desk-based assessments, and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to be based near or relocate to Hailsham (East Sussex) or Ashford (Kent).
