About the Role

Our client is seeking skilled Environmental or Town Planners to join their expanding Planning team, with positions available at Senior, Principal, or Associate Director levels. Offering flexible working arrangements, including hybrid and part-time options, this role is primarily based in Stoke-on-Trent, though opportunities are also available in other locations such as Bolton, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, London, Truro, and Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities
As part of the Planning team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert planning and environmental guidance to a diverse client base, including renewable energy developers, waste management companies, utility providers, housebuilders, and land promoters.
  • Developing planning strategies and supporting the progression of development projects.
  • Conducting site assessments, managing pre-application consultations, and preparing planning applications and appeals.
  • Overseeing the planning project lifecycle, coordinating internal and external technical teams.
  • Engaging in community consultation processes and liaising with key stakeholders such as developers, architects, landowners, engineers, and local authorities.
  • Supporting business development by preparing proposals and contributing to client engagement.
  • Leading and mentoring junior team members, providing guidance and support where needed.

Skills and Experience Required
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

  • A relevant degree in town planning, environmental management, or a related discipline.
  • A strong track record in managing medium to large-scale planning projects.
  • High levels of technical competence, with excellent analytical, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to workload management.
