Their Planning division is a key part of their business, providing expert advice to a wide range of clients across the public and private sectors.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director/Director to join the Planning team in Brighton. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of planning expertise, a proven track record in managing complex projects, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team of dedicated professionals, contribute to high-profile projects, and play a pivotal role in the growth and success of our planning services in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Provide strategic planning advice to a wide range of clients, including developers, investors, and public sector bodies.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and securing new instructions.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Stay abreast of the latest planning legislation, policy changes, and market trends to ensure their advice remains current and authoritative.
  • Represent the business at public inquiries, examinations, and client meetings, demonstrating professionalism and expertise.
  • Collaborate with other divisions within the business to deliver integrated and comprehensive solutions for their clients.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in a planning role, with a strong understanding of the UK planning system.
  • Proven ability to manage complex planning projects and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Strong business development skills and a network of industry contacts.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
