About the Role
Our client is an award winning innovative design practise. They are seeking an Associate/Associate Director Landscape Architect to drive our innovative and high-quality design projects, both in the UK and internationally. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in landscape architecture, team leadership, and business development. This role requires minimal supervision from senior executive directors and involves mentoring junior colleagues to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Oversee a a team of up to 13 and lead on projects with up to 8 members.
- Resourcing: Maintain up-to-date squad resourcing, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Business Development: Market the practice in the Midlands and Northern regions, attend local marketing events, and write bids to meet new business targets.
- Project Management: Manage projects through all RIBA work stages, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Client Interaction: Lead project meetings, client presentations, and maintain strong client relationships to maximize repeat business opportunities.
- Financial Management: Forecast fees, program work, write fee proposals, ensure timely invoicing, and chase debts with the finance team's support.
- Quality Assurance: Chair quality groups, ensure adherence to procedures, and conduct quality reviews.

- Short to Medium Term: Potential to become a board member.
- Medium to Long Term: Potential to become a Director of the business.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience: Minimum 15 years in landscape architecture with a strong track record in leading teams on large-scale international and UK projects.
- Leadership: Proficient in managing and inspiring a team, encouraging collaboration and innovation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer applications relevant to landscape architecture, particularly Revit.
- Education: Degree in a related design field or equivalent certification/skill level. Professional registration is preferred.
- Client Management: Proactive in engaging potential clients and partners, with effective decision-making skills and commercial acumen.
- Project Finance: Sound understanding of cost control, fee charging, and project finance, ensuring project fees and targets are met.
