About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is excited to be working with our client, a leading provider of environmental services, to find an experienced and driven Area Manager to lead and develop a team across multiple depots. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated leader to take full responsibility for operational, financial, and compliance performance within a defined area.

About the Role

As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and profitable operation of multiple depots, leading business managers and teams to maintain exceptional service delivery. You will play a key role in driving business growth, maximising efficiency, and upholding high standards in health & safety and customer service.

This is a senior role that requires flexibility, leadership, and a hands-on approach to operations. Travel across depots will be required, and due to the nature of the business, availability outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall performance, profitability, and operational excellence of allocated depots.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop management teams to drive efficiency and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure business targets are met and operations run in line with company objectives.

  • Promote strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and ensuring excellent service delivery.

  • Work closely with various teams, including Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Client Services.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve intra-depot collaboration and overall efficiency.

  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns while implementing measures to prevent recurrence.

  • Champion a positive workplace culture that aligns with the company’s vision and values.

  • Monitor financial performance, cost control, and business development opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

  • Provide operational and managerial support across the business as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven leadership experience within environmental services, waste management, or a similar industry.

  • Strong operational, commercial, and financial acumen.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

  • Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations, with IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications being advantageous.

  • Experience in sales and business development, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities.

  • High level of adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in reporting and presenting at a senior level.

  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel and work away from home when required.

Why Join Our Client?

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • The opportunity to take on a senior leadership role within a growing and respected company.

  • A dynamic work environment where your ideas and leadership make a real impact.

  • Career development and progression opportunities.
