About the Role

Due to increased growth and expansion, our client is looking for a Senior Planner to join their friendly and busy team based in Nottingham city centre. This office works throughout the Midlands on a diverse range of projects for public sector, private, and community clients across all sectors. The team also collaborates flexibly with colleagues in other offices on projects across the country.

Our client is seeking an MRTPI-qualified Town Planner or someone eligible to actively work towards accreditation in the next few months. They offer a structured mentoring programme specifically designed for RTPI Accreditation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering a variety of exciting projects.


Roles and Responsibilities

This role provides an excellent opportunity to advance your career in planning, working across the spectrum of town planning activities. These include:

  • Promoting large-scale development projects.
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications.
  • Managing appeals for a variety of development types.
  • Representing clients in local plan processes.

The ideal candidate will be a positive, proactive individual with the drive to meet client expectations and support business growth. Strong analytical, presentation, and written skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage time effectively.

As a Senior Planner, you will engage in a broad range of tasks while benefiting from CPD training opportunities. An established staff mentoring system will further support your professional and personal development.


Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Town Planning (2:1 or above).
  • A postgraduate qualification in Planning.
  • Ideally, 2–3 years of professional experience (private or public sector).
  • Chartered membership of the RTPI (or working towards accreditation, with full support and sponsorship provided).
  • A full driving licence.
