Our client, a leading ecological consultancy, is seeking a highly motivated Senior/Principal Ecologist to join their thriving team. If you’re passionate about making a difference and working on diverse, impactful projects, this role is for you.

About the Role:

As a Senior/Principal Ecologist, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of private sector projects, including renewable energy, residential, logistics, education, and leisure—without any HS2 work. This is a chance to lead and innovate, with responsibilities that include:

  • Conducting extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys/UK Habitat Surveys to map habitats and assess their potential to support protected species.
  • Leading Phase 2 surveys for legally protected species, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Producing high-quality ecological reports, reviewing work from junior team members, and ensuring it meets industry standards.
  • Designing and managing ecological surveys and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Overseeing project management, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and third parties, providing expert ecological advice.
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members, helping them grow in their careers.
