About the Role

Our client is a sector leader in delivering specialist PMO services to support the Scottish Government (Energy Consents Unit), Local Planning Authorities, and individual developers. PMO services are a key requirement for major energy consents and other long-term projects to ensure compliance with environmental and planning conditions.

The environment team is currently providing PMO services on a range of projects, including:

  • Broken Cross Windfarm, South Lanarkshire
  • Inverary to Crossaig Overhead Line, Argyll and Bute
  • Cononish Gold Mine, Tyndrum, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs NP
  • Sneddon Law Windfarm, East Ayrshire
  • Duntilland Quarry, North Lanarkshire

The Role

This role involves regular site visits (ranging from monthly to weekly) to projects across Scotland, alongside environmental reviews and audits of key documents (e.g., Environmental Impact Assessments and planning condition discharge documents).

The ideal candidate will have experience in construction environments and be comfortable conducting site visits and audits. This role may also be a great opportunity for an Environmental Clerk of Works (ECoW) looking to expand their expertise.

The successful applicant will join an experienced PMO team and receive support in obtaining a Lead Environmental Auditor qualification aligned with ISO 14001.

What We’re Looking For

Your Experience:

  • A degree in environmental sciences, geography, planning, ecology, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience providing environmental advice on construction sites.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution at an appropriate level.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Scotland.

Your Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate environmental insights clearly.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced and varied workload effectively.

The Offer

  • Hybrid working model (home and Edinburgh HQ-based).
  • Competitive salary (dependent on skills and experience).
  • Internal and external training and CPD opportunities.
