About the Role
Our client, a leading consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Monitoring Officer (PMO) to join their award-winning team in Edinburgh.
As a sector leader in PMO services, they work with the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit, Local Planning Authorities, and developers on major energy and infrastructure projects. Current projects include high-profile developments such as Broken Cross Windfarm, Cononish Gold Mine, and the Inverary to Crossaig Overhead Line.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental Compliance: Oversee compliance with environmental and planning conditions on large-scale projects, performing regular site inspections across Scotland.
- Document Review & Auditing: Conduct environmental reviews of key documents, including EIAs and audits, ensuring all regulatory and planning conditions are met.
- Lead Environmental Audits: Gain qualifications to lead environmental audits (ISO 14001), with full support from the team.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with government bodies, local authorities, and developers to ensure projects comply with environmental regulations.
- On-Site Monitoring: Visit construction sites (monthly or weekly) to monitor environmental performance and ensure best practice.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects, producing regular reports and updates to clients on progress and compliance.
About You:
- Degree in environmental science, geography, planning, ecology, or related field.
- Solid experience on construction sites, with knowledge of environmental compliance.
- Membership in a relevant professional body.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full clean driving licence, with flexibility to travel across Scotland.
