Senior Bid Writer - Environmental Consultancy

Are you an experienced Bid Writer looking to make a real impact in a forward-thinking environmental consultancy? Our client is offering a flexible Senior Bid Writer role where you'll lead winning bid strategies for their Advisory Services team. This hybrid position is based ideally out of the Runcorn or Gateshead office, with 2 days per week onsite and flexible working arrangements.

Role Responsibilities:

• Achieve targets for the Bids team, maintaining a 50% win rate.
• Develop and implement bid strategies to support company growth, collaborating with the New Business team.
• Identify bid opportunities from tender alerts, emails, and other sources.
• Lead the creation of winning bid themes and strategies.
• Oversee key meetings, including bid/no-bid decisions, kick-off sessions, and quality and price reviews.
• Review and refine pricing and bid content.
• Attend bid interviews and clarification meetings as required.
• Conduct debriefs and lessons learned sessions for continuous improvement.
• Maintain and update bid resources (response libraries, CVs, case studies, references).
• Keep the bid horizon updated with tender notifications and business intelligence.
• Support proposal and quotation efforts.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience in bid writing and bid processes, ideally in sectors like environmental consultancy, infrastructure, or construction.
• Is tech-savvy, with examples of implementing AI or tech innovations into a bid process.
• Possesses strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrates excellent customer management and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).

About the Team:
You’ll be part of a 5-person Bids team, reporting to the Head of Sales.
