About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) professional to step into a senior role within an expanding team of environmental and planning experts. This position is focused on managing and delivering high-impact projects while growing the team and developing client relationships across a variety of sectors. This is a key role in supporting a wide range of major infrastructure, renewable energy, minerals, and housing projects, providing strategic environmental insight to both internal and external project teams.
Key Responsibilities
As an Associate/Technical Director for Environmental Impact Assessment, your role will include:
- Leading the management of statutory and non-statutory EIAs, including project coordination, document review, and managing a team of junior professionals.
- Collaborating with internal and external specialists from various disciplines including ecology, air quality, landscape, archaeology, and climate change to ensure comprehensive project delivery.
- Building and nurturing relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities.
- Contributing to the strategic development and coordination of the EIA and Planning services across multiple sectors.
Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience as an EIA Coordinator on large-scale projects.
- A strong background in preparing Environmental Statements, with the ability to manage both technical and non-technical documentation.
- A solid understanding of the English planning system, particularly EIA regulations.
- Desirable but not essential experience with Development Consent Orders (DCOs).
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- A proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
- Leadership experience with a focus on team development.
- Relevant degree qualifications and professional membership in IEMA (Practitioner or higher).
- A full UK driving licence.
