The Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and grow the Environmental Management and Consents team. Based in Birmingham (or potentially London or another location for the right candidate), you’ll oversee and deliver high-profile projects while helping to expand our client’s presence in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Environmental Management and Consents team, working closely with other business units.
  • Deliver major projects, providing expert guidance and ensuring compliance with consents and environmental management regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, including attending client sites and conducting meetings.
  • Contribute to and lead bids for projects of varying scales.
  • Provide mentoring, training, and performance management for team members.

Specialist Knowledge and Expertise

We’re looking for someone with proven skills in:

  • Developing and maintaining Environment Management Plans and Consent Management Plans.
  • Engaging with consenting authorities and preparing materials for pre-submission discussions.
  • Managing integrated systems, including environmental management processes.
  • Understanding construction processes, including design and sequencing phases.

Your role will also involve collaboration with in-house teams specializing in Planning, Acoustics, Air Quality, Digital Delivery, and more.

The Ideal Candidate

To excel in this role, you should bring:

  • 12+ years of experience in the environment, planning, or sustainability sectors.
  • Proven ability to write Codes of Construction Practice (CoCPs).
  • Experience monitoring and reporting on consents KPI data.
  • A strong network of contacts within the Environmental Management and Consents sectors.
  • Expertise in project management and a passion for delivering outstanding results.
