The Opportunity

Our client’s property team is currently working on some of the largest urban regeneration schemes in London, partnering with high-profile clients. We are seeking a driven, enthusiastic, and experienced Technical Director to lead their EIA Property team. While the preferred location is London, we welcome applications from candidates based in Manchester or Birmingham. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering and managing projects, expanding their business, and strengthening our client’s national market presence.

The Role
We are looking for a candidate with expert knowledge of EIA principles, guidance, and the planning process, along with a proven track record of managing and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver EIA projects on time and within budget.

This role will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Planning, Acoustics, Air Quality, Social Value, Socio-Economics, Digital Delivery, Ecology, and EIA Infrastructure, as well as a range of external partners across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and scaling a team of direct reports, ensuring profitability and consistent year-on-year growth.

  • Managing and delivering complex EIA property and urban regeneration projects.

  • Developing and nurturing client relationships, demonstrating business development capabilities.

  • Engaging in strategic planning, project direction, and framework management.

  • Providing expert advice on environmental issues related to planning, EIA, and strategic consultancy.

  • Ensuring project delivery excellence, maintaining client satisfaction within time and budget constraints.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in environment, property, planning, and sustainability sectors.

  • Proven track record in business development, including networking, bid writing, and key client management.

  • Experience leading EIA property and urban regeneration projects across the UK.

  • A strong existing network and client portfolio within the housing and property sectors.

  • Expertise in EIA principles and methodologies.

  • Demonstrated project management and people management experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confidence in providing expert advice and leading in challenging situations proactively.

  • Sound knowledge of project and business financial management systems.

  • Chartered Membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. IEMA).

  • Familiarity with Integrated Management Systems, including environmental management processes.
