Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior/Principal Planning Consultant to join a Harpenden office. This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage planning projects, provide strategic advice, and drive the success of our consultancy through client engagement and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a variety of planning projects from inception to completion.
- Provide strategic planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with planning regulations and policies.
- Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and supporting documents.
- Engage with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and community groups.
- Mentor and support junior planners, fostering professional growth within the team.
- Contribute to business development through client relationships, networking, and proposal writing.
- Stay updated with changes in planning legislation, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Town Planning or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) or working towards it.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a planning consultancy or related sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex planning projects.
- Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in using planning software and GIS tools.
- A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel.
